Bellydance and Merriment on the Autumn Equinox
Amy Horn, Angela Silling, and I used to bellydance together for many years. Now we are all kind of doing our own thing, but still love to hang out and support each other and our individual endeavors. We have all become bellydance teachers and we put this showcase together for our student and performance troupes.

Zenzi Burlesque
Pushing My Envelope
A couple of months ago I became a member of Rainy Night Productions' burlesque group, Zenzi Burlesque. This is not your average burlesque troupe. They produce a multi-media mashup of burlesque, vaudeville, music, and film, all with a bawdy, campy twist. I auditioned for this troupe in hopes that it would teach me more about using multi-media in live performances, and to push myself in a different direction. Plus, I just wanted to do something completely different and silly! The first choreography I had to learn involved hot pink swim fins, that's the moment I knew I was in the right place.

Bahar, Performance Troupe Opportunity
Bahar, my student troupe, is about to go on break for October, November and December. We will start back up in January. I would like to do even more performances and events next year, as well as raise the level of our dancing. If you have been thinking about performing with a troupe, this could be your opportunity. Beginning Bellydance Class:
Wednesdays, October 7-November 18, 6-7pm, $56
(Open to beginning and intermediate level bellydance students.)
Intermediate Bellydance Class:
Wednesdays, October 7-November 18, 7:15-8:30pm, $70
(Must have prior bellydance experience.)
These classes are a great value and most of your money goes to supporting the UW Women's Center.

Tuesday Night Bellydance Classes
Tuesdays, Ongoing Mixed-level Bellydance class,
7:30-8:30pm, $12 drop-in, Capitol Hill/Central District at Groovy Dancer Studio
This class focuses on bellydance technique as well as exercises to explore creativity in movement, discover personal style, and improvisation.
This class runs through the end of September.
